How Long Does JUVÉDERM Last?

Dermal fillers are incredibly popular because they help patients to rejuvenate their facial features without undergoing surgery. They are also very long-lasting, so patients only need to come to the clinic once a year or once every two years. At Le Beau Visage Medical Spa in Frisco, TX, we offer several kinds of JUVÉDERM injections. Read on to find out more about the options and how long they last.

How Long Does JUVÉDERM Last?

Traditional treatments like BOTOX only last for a few months at a time. Patients have to come to the clinic three or four times a year to maintain their good results. Because many people lead busy lives, this can be a problem. Fortunately, dermal fillers are much more long-lasting, and the results often remain fresh for 12 months or more.

We offer three of the most innovative fillers: VOLBELLA, VOLUMA, and VOLLURE. They are all created with new cross-linking technology, so they are more long-lasting than the original gels. VOLBELLA and VOLLURE are thinner, so they last for around 18 months. VOLUMA is the most substantial formula, and the results might stay fresh for up to two years, as long as you take good care of your skin.

VOLBELLA

VOLBELLA is the thinnest of the three fillers. It is designed to augment the lips and get rid of fine wrinkles around the mouth. Because the gel is so thin, the results are subtle and natural-looking. That’s why VOLBELLA is a great filler for people who have never been treated before or those who have only recently started to notice the first signs of aging.

You might also be a good candidate for this gel if you’ve always been self-conscious about your thin lips. Both men and women can get VOLBELLA from the age of 21, but many of our patients are in their 40s and beyond. The results typically last for around 12-18 months. Most of our patients come to the clinic once a year to maintain their smooth and plump features.

VOLLURE

VOLLURE is slightly thicker than VOLBELLA. It is the ideal filler for people who would like to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles around their mouth and nose. The gel can address marionette lines, smoker’s lines, parenthesis lines, and nasolabial folds. Sometimes, it is also used to get rid of the wrinkles in the corners of the mouth or enhance the shape of the lips.

Most patients experience excellent, long-lasting results after VOLLURE treatment. They might need to return for a maintenance appointment after 12-18 months. The results depend on the treatment area. Typically, the lips have to be treated more frequently than the nasolabial folds because there is more frequent movement. We use our lips every time we speak or chew, so they are in constant motion and more prone to wrinkling.

VOLUMA

When we think of the aging process, wrinkles and sagging skin folds often come to mind. But these aren’t the only changes. After age 30, many people start to notice that their cheeks are less plump than during their early and mid-20s. This can be problematic because hollow or sunken cheeks make people look older and more tired.

VOLUMA is the perfect solution because this gel has been specifically designed to address a loss of volume in the mid-face. The formula is much thicker than VOLBELLA and VOLLURE. It plumps up the cheeks, so patients once again look youthful and healthy. Because the gel is so thick, the results stay in place for up to two years.

When Will I See Results?

You might already look and feel different when you walk out of the clinic after your appointment. However, these initial changes are simply a result of the gel being injected into your treatment area. Dermal fillers take several weeks to settle because the active ingredient, hyaluronic acid, needs time to start attracting water molecules and increasing your skin’s flexibility.

Most patients only need one dermal filler appointment to see great results. However, we often invite people back to the clinic two or three months after their initial session to check on their results. During this follow-up appointment, patients tell us about their results. If there are any other cosmetic concerns, we suggest further treatment options.

How To Prolong the Results

Not every person experiences the same results. Some patients need to come to the clinic more frequently than others. This is partly due to genetic factors, but there are also lifestyle-related reasons. Generally, people who don’t expose their faces to excessive amounts of sunlight and always wear sunscreen when going out benefit from more long-lasting results. That’s because UV radiation is extremely damaging to the skin.

Since hyaluronic acid works by lubricating the tissues and attracting water molecules, staying hydrated is crucial. Drink plenty of water every day. Eat a diet rich in nutrients, particularly vitamin C, vitamin A, and zinc. These substances slow down the aging process and help the body to repair damaged tissues.

What Happens During the Appointment?

JUVÉDERM appointments only take 30-45 minutes. We begin by numbing your treatment area and carefully marking the injection sites. Then, we inject the dermal filler under your skin. Once we’re done, you can clean and dry your face and leave the clinic. If you’ve never had an injectable before, it’s best to take the rest of the day off.

However, our regular patients often come to see us during their lunch break or in between other appointments. Injectable treatments are minimally invasive, so there’s no need to rest or take time off work.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It isn’t toxic, and it’s highly unlikely that you’ll experience a negative reaction. That’s why almost everyone is eligible for dermal fillers. Even those who can’t take part in elective surgery are good candidates. We treat younger patients in their 20s or 30s as well as those in their 60s and beyond.

The best way to find out whether you’re a good candidate is to come to the clinic for an assessment. We’ll go through your medical history to make sure the treatment is safe for you. If you suffer from a serious disease, speak to your doctor before booking an appointment with us.

What Is the Best Age To Start Treatment?

Adults can start filler treatment at any age. Some people come to see us in their 20s and early 30s because they would like to augment their lips or prevent the formation of lines and wrinkles. Most people start getting injections in their late 30s or 40s. At that age, the body is still youthful and resilient, but the first signs of aging are becoming more visible.

If you’re older than 50, you might have deeper lines and wrinkles. Despite this, you can still take part. You might need to come to the clinic more frequently and combine several methods to achieve the best results.

Which Filler Is Right for Me?

No matter your cosmetic concern, we can find a filler that suits your needs. VOLLURE or VOLBELLA might be suitable if you’d like to augment your lips or get rid of small lines and wrinkles. VOLUMA is the perfect solution if you’ve lost volume in your cheeks. We also offer gels from other leading brands. Book your assessment now to find out more about your options.

Can I Combine Treatments?

People who have a very specific skin concern might only need one type of filler. However, most of our patients would like to rejuvenate all their facial features. They might need several injectables to achieve the best results. Dermal fillers are ideal for static wrinkles that don’t disappear when the patient’s face is neutral. BOTOX is a complementary injectable that addresses dynamic wrinkles created by facial expressions.

We also offer other treatments like skin tightening, laser skin resurfacing, and permanent cosmetics. If you’re worried about your weight or struggling with stubborn pockets of fat, we can help you achieve your goals with an HCG diet and a custom body shaping program.

Achieve Your Youthful Features with Dermal Fillers

JUVÉDERM injections provide excellent results that last for many months or even several years. They help patients to achieve their desired lip shape, get rid of wrinkles, and increase the plumpness of the cheeks. Give us a call at Le Beau Visage Medical Spa in Frisco, TX to book your consultation. We’ll analyze your skin to determine whether you’re a good candidate for VOLBELLA, VOLLURE, or VOLUMA.
