FRACTORA POST CARE: What to do after leaving Le Beau Visage Medical Spa
- Emollient cream should be applied to the treatment area immediately post treatment.
- Cooling the skin can reduce discomfort.
- Antibiotics may be prescribed if infection is suspected or as a prophylactic measure. Patient is to contact physician if there is any indication of infection, excessive swelling, redness, or undue pain.
- Occlusive dressing like Elta MD Moisturizer may be used instead of or following antibiotic ointment.
- A prophylactic antiviral medication (Valtrex) should be prescribed to patients with a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex) when treating around mouth and lips.
- Tiny scabs may appear after 1-3 days and stay for several days following the treatment. The scabs should not be touched or scratched even if they itch, and should be allowed to flake off naturally.
- Blisters may be treated with prescribed antibiotic should they occur post procedure.
- During the first 2 days follow treatment, before re-epithelization, the skin should be kept clean to avoid contamination or infection; any mechanical or thermal damage to area must be avoided. Moisturizer may be applied 24-72 hr post treatment and then should be applied regularly throughout the course of the treatment.
