What Is Facial Rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation is what you might call an umbrella term. Rejuvenation treatments aim to restore a youthful feeling and appearance to the skin, so you might class them as anti-aging treatments at first. However, rejuvenation is so much more than only anti-aging. Rejuvenation also addresses pigmentation and resurfacing, not just skin tightness. At Le Beau Visage Medical Spa, we offer dozens of different rejuvenation treatments. If that feels a little overwhelming, don’t worry. Our staff will be happy to help you find the treatment or combination of treatments you need to fully rejuvenate your appearance.

What Are Facial Rejuvenation Treatments?

There are many rejuvenation treatments, but these treatments can generally be separated into three categories: injectables, tightening, and resurfacing. Here we will break down these categories to explain what they are, the main benefits of each, and examples of treatments we offer at the clinic.

Facial Injectables

Facial injectables are treatments that are injected into the skin. The main purpose of injectables is to lift the appearance of the skin or otherwise fill areas that have begun to lose volume due to aging. Injectables are an invasive form of rejuvenation that requires some recovery time, but they also tend to have the longest-lasting benefits.

There are two different types of injectables. The first is a filler injectable, which injects a compound – usually hyaluronic acid – into the skin to literally fill in the lost volume between layers of skin. Filler injectables generally address the issue of fine lines or wrinkles. The second type of injectable is neurotoxins. Neurotoxin injectables work on a chemical level to reduce muscle activity in the face, which relaxes the appearance of wrinkles, especially those in the forehead.

Main Benefit

The main benefit of facial injectables is the length of time the treatment lasts, especially for filler injectables. Injectables produce excellent results that help lessen the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, facial folds in the cheeks, under-eye sagging, thinness in the lips, and even can help reduce the appearance of scars.

Another benefit of this treatment is associated with neurotoxin injectables, which can reduce or eliminate migraines and TMJ for a period of time. If you are seeking neurotoxin injectables as treatment for these conditions, please inform our staff. We will be happy to give you more detailed information on how these injectables can help treat medical issues.

Treatments

Botox is probably the most common and most easily recognizable facial injectable. As a neurotoxin injectable, Botox uses a protein that specifically targets the muscles in the face to slow down muscle contractions. Another common treatment you might have heard of is Juvederm, which is a filler injectable that uses hyaluronic acid to reduce the appearance of fine lines, especially those around the eyes and mouth.

Skin Tightening

This type of rejuvenation treatment directly addresses moderate skin laxity or sagging which is associated with loss of skin volume. Our clinic has a wide array of skin tightening treatments that are non-invasive and at the height of cutting edge technology. In general, skin tightening treatments use radiofrequency and heat to stimulate the production of collagen beneath the surface of the skin to help restore skin volume.

Main Benefit

The main benefit of skin tightening treatments is that they are non-invasive. If you want to fill the volume of your skin but you don’t want to go anywhere near a needle, then skin tightening treatments are a viable alternative to achieve the same result. Additionally, skin tightening treatments can be used along the jawline, on the neck, on the underarms, and on the abdomen.

Treatments

At our clinic, we offer three skin tightening treatments through three technologies. The first is the newest, which is Morpheus8 and uses radiofrequency to stimulate subdermal tissue. Factora uses bipolar radiofrequency to tighten skin laxity in the face, specifically the forehead, midface, eyelid, mouth, and neck areas. Finally, Forma uses radiofrequency to stimulate both collagen and elastin in the sublevels of skin to replenish skin and return skin to a more youthful elasticity.

Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing is a form of rejuvenation that works to treat issues on the skin surface, such as fine lines, acne scarring, or uneven skin texture and pigmentation. Skin resurfacing is another kind of non-invasive treatment that has the overall goal of giving patients a youthful glow and a perfected skin appearance. There are several types of skin resurfacing: radiofrequency, laser technology, micro-needling, LED therapy, serum infusion, and chemical peels.

Main Benefit

Overall, skin resurfacing addresses issues on the surface of the skin that contribute to looking older, such as dull skin, dark spots, and scarring. The main benefit of skin resurfacing is to perfect skin and return a youthful glow with very quick results. Skin resurfacing has a short recovery time and often has results that can be seen in as little as a few days. Generally speaking, skin resurfacing treatments are the most classically spa-like rejuvenation treatments our clinic offers.

Treatments

In fact, there is some overlap in the treatments used in skin tightening and skin resurfacing. For example, both Morpheus8 and Factora are radiofrequency treatments that are also used for skin resurfacing. We also offer DermaFrac, which combines all forms of skin resurfacing into one treatment, and Fraxel, which uses the newest laser technology to stimulate collagen production.

If you aren’t interested in high-tech cosmetic solutions, we also offer a full range of chemical peel treatments, which all restore radiance and deliver instant results for smooth, resurfaced skin. Our staff will help determine the right chemical peel for you based on ingredients, cosmetic goals, and your specific skin type.

Our New Specialty: Hydrafacials

While there are three main types of skin rejuvenation treatments, we are proud to say that our clinic has a specialty, all-in-one, one-of-a-kind treatment perfect for cosmetic anti-aging concerns. Hydrafacials address skin rejuvenation without any invasive treatments or long recovery times, and with an overall more gentle approach. Hydrafacials are perfect for fine lines, age spots, uneven skin texture, and enlarged pores.

How Do Hydrafacials Work?

This combination skin rejuvenation treatment uses Hydrafacial technology to address many cosmetic skin concerns all at the same time. Hydrafacial gently removed dead skin cells and other skin debris from the skin surface, while simultaneously cleansing and moisturizing skin with intensely hydrating serums. There are many serums to choose from, all made with natural anti-aging peptides. During your consultation, our staff will help you select the serum that will deliver optimal results for your specific needs.

Main Benefit

Hydrafacials deliver instantaneous, long-lasting results in as little as an hour without any great discomfort or prolonged recovery time. One session of a Hydrafacial treatment can immediately soften fine lines, fade sun damage, and give a silky skin texture. And the best part about Hydrafacials? The long-lasting reversal of skin damage continues to improve after each treatment, which means that truly perfect skin is only one or two sessions away.

Ideal Candidates for Facial Rejuvenation

Who are ideal candidates for rejuvenation treatments? Nearly anyone who wants to address anti-aging cosmetic concerns can undergo a rejuvenation treatment at any time. No matter how minor or severe your concerns are, rejuvenation treatments are appropriate to reduce or altogether eliminate any issues you have. Candidates for rejuvenation consist of those with:

If you have any of these cosmetic concerns, then skin rejuvenation treatments are excellent options for you. Most rejuvenation treatments do not have age limitations, although some do have health restrictions, such as precautions for those suffering from allergies. Our clinic will help determine if there are any restrictions for you during your consultation.

How Long Does Facial Rejuvenation Last?

The length of time a rejuvenation treatment lasts depends on which type of rejuvenation you get. You also have the option of combining multiple rejuvenation treatments at a time to reach the desired result. For example, you can use a skin tightening and skin resurfacing treatments to address mild to moderate cosmetic concerns.

Facial injectables, for example, can either last two years for fillers or as little as 3 months for neurotoxins. Skin tightening treatments can see effects for 3 to 6 months and sometimes longer. Skin resurfacing treatments can last for several years but also require multiple treatment sessions to reach optimal results. Meanwhile, Hydrafacials see hydration results for about a week, and the long-lasting cosmetic repairs for several months at a time or longer.
