Before your first appointment, you will have a brief consultation with our doctor. This appointment helps us determine whether this treatment is right for you by asking you several questions about your goals and examining your areas of concern. Once our doctor has evaluated your situation, they will make a professional recommendation for treatment. If you are approved for treatment with dermal fillers, you will receive instructions on how to prepare for your first session.
While preparing for this type of appointment is fairly easy, we always recommend that our patients take special care to monitor their skin’s health in one to two weeks before their first treatment. This includes avoiding any irritating skincare products or treatments and protecting your skin from the sun by limiting sun exposure and tanning before treatment.
You should also stop taking blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen and aspirin along with some herbal supplements at least a week before treatment. Continue your skincare routine as normal and drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
