Before your appointment, you need to take certain preparation steps to ensure your treatment is as safe and effective as possible. You will receive a comprehensive list of preparation steps during your initial consultation.
For instance, it is essential that you do not take any medications that can thin your blood, such as NSAIDs or MAOIs, during the week leading up to your injection session. It is also very important that you do not consume any tobacco or alcohol products for 48 hours leading up to your injection session.
On the day of your injection session, it is advisable to come in with a clean, bare face. However, if you feel the need to wear makeup or other cosmetics, we will remove it before your injections are administered. We will also clean your face thoroughly with an alcohol-based cleanser before your injections are administered.
Once your skin is clean, we will inject the medication into your areas of concern. There is no need for a topical numbing cream to keep you comfortable during your treatment because the formula contains an injectable numbing agent called lidocaine.
